Summer in Switzerland

A highlight of the season is the Morges Tulip Festival (March–May), where thousands of tulips brighten the shores of Lake Geneva.

By summer, the country is full of life, with long days perfect for biking, paragliding over Interlaken, and boat cruises on clear blue lakes. Exciting events like the Montreux Jazz Festival and Fête de l'Escalade add fun and culture. Visitors can explore charming Alpine villages, relax at outdoor cafés, or visit glaciers. The GoldenPass Scenic Train

Take this breathtaking journey through Switzerland’s most picturesque landscapes, connecting Lucerne, Interlaken, and Montreux. Passengers enjoy stunning views of snow-capped peaks, rolling meadows, and crystal-clear lakes, making it one of the most scenic train rides in the world.

Flower Clock is a renewable living masterpiece

The clock, situated at a corner of the Jardin Anglais, was created for the first time in 1955 and contains about 12,000 flowers and plants. The floral arrangements change according to the season.

Easy Round Trip on Ebenalp with a view

Take the cable car to Ebenalp and start your hike up on top. Make your way to Alp Chlus through mountain pines and alpine rose bushes. Descend along the mountain wall, where you might come across a climber or two. After an hour or so of hiking the route will ascend toward the plateau of Ebenalp. If you take a last glance back, you will see Meglisalp just above the Seealpsee Lake.

The steepest cogwheel railway in the world

Commissioned in 1889, a gradient of up to 48 percent, about 30 minutes travel time: that is the steepest cogwheel railway in the world in figures. Meter by meter it scales the way from Alpnachstad to Pilatus Kulm, passing alpine meadows and striking rock formations.

Montreux Jazz Festival, Where Legends Are Born

The Montreux Jazz Festival takes place for two weeks every summer in Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. Created in 1967 by Claude Nobs and directed by Mathieu Jaton since 2013, the Montreux Jazz Festival has become over the years an essential event, generating fantastic stories and legendary performances.

Into Orbit

Upcoming all-women flight on Blue Origin's New Shepherd rocket

The NS-31 mission will be the 11th human spaceflight for the New Shepherd rocket and the 31st in its history. So far, the programme has launched 52 people into space. A trip on the New Shepard typically lasts about 11 minutes, according to Blue Origin. It is fully autonomous - which means there are no pilots - and takes the passengers past the Karman line, internationally recognised as the edge of space.
