Norway’s Arctic Wonderland

Northern Norway is one of the very best places on Earth to witness the magical northern lights. From late September to late March, the dark Arctic skies come alive with shimmering waves of green, pink and purple. The spectacular light display is caused by particles from the sun colliding with gases in our atmosphere – a natural wonder that never fails to impress. This region’s dramatic landscapes, with snow-capped mountains, deep fjords and peaceful islands, create the perfect backdrop for aurora hunting. Peak viewing hours are between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., and chances are especially high in spring and autumn
