The Main Trail in Petra is a popular and accessible 3.9 km one-way walk starting from the Visitor Centre and ending at Qasr al-Bint. It begins with impressive monuments like the Djinn Block Tombs and Obelisk Tomb, leading into the Siq, a stunning 1.2 km sandstone gorge once used as the city’s main entrance. Visitors can admire Petra’s ancient water channels and marvel as the Siq opens onto the breathtaking Treasury (Al-Khazna). The trail continues past rock-cut facades, the Theatre, and the colonnaded street, ending at Qasr al-Bint, a grand temple complex. Along the way, tourists experience Petra’s rich Nabataean history, remarkable architecture, and unique geology.
